Our confirmed match date is July 18th, 2010 which incidentally is the last day of the Calgary Stampede (supposedly "the most fun you can have with your boots on" ). If you are coming from out of town, plan to come a couple of days early to take in some Stampede-ing - the music is loud (but country), beverages are cold, and locals are very friendly this time of year.
UDATED 11 JULY 2010
SCHEDULE
Friday July 16th - Setup - 9:30 AM
Setup will be quick if we can secure 10-12 volunteers, if you possibly can, come up Friday to lend a hand - you will get a sneak peak at the stage layouts. Open to all club members.
Saturday July 17th - Safety Office / Volunteer Shoot - 9:30AM
Saturday will be reserved for fine tuning stage setups, target positions, and for the team working on Sunday to shoot the match.
Sunday July 18th - Late Registration 7:30 - 8:30AM
We have a long day, and I hope many competitors to run through 10 challenging stages with 150+ rounds. We will do equipment safety and compliance checks in the morning, and will be collecting ammunition for chronograph testing randomly through the day (leave your under powered loads at home). If your equipment is safe, you can play, if its non-compliant (doesn't fit in box, weight, modifications) you can still play - but will not be scored for ranking. When all scores are input, and posted, we will tear down, while observing the 1 hour protest period. Trophies will be awarded for division winners, and those shooters winning class/divisions. Finally, we will be drawing for the prize table.
Back to the match ... We've devised 10 stages, 145 rounds - the first 125 classified shooters (and current IDPA members) of all "calibers" will find something challenging and amusing in the Course of Fire.
If you would like to attend from out of province click on the Contact link below, and I will send you a letter of invitation to support your transport request.

We hope to see you in July.
